The final leg of the three event Billabong Grom Series presented by Oceanbridge played host to three valuable Christchurch competitors on day one of the event held at Piha Beach, Auckland today (Saturday 26th February). * * Day one was played out in an increasing 1.5m swell that was hampered by an onshore southwest wind making conditions challenging for many competitors.  The conditions actually caused event organisers to put the event on hold in the afternoon due to the building swell.

This weekend of the 22-23 January the Billabong Grom Series event no 1 will be at Mt Maunganui. The top under 16 surfers in NZ will be there showcasing there skills and vying for valuable points to take out the 3 stop series and win a trip to Australia to compete in the Occy grom event on the Gold Coast.
